True Religion

I see you all through the tainted glass.

A surreal community.

You can’t escape, you can’t trespass,

you’re a victim of their scrutiny.

Such division of ideas,

you kling to the testament

that still treasures your ideals.

No abuse, no punishment.

Just solitary penance,

a purgatory where to rest,

where to conspire vengeance

and put mercy to the test.

True religion is forgiveness.

We’re just sinners, God forgive us.

True religion won’t ostracise,

see the mercy in His eyes.

True religion is true God

all powerful, almighty.

He won’t deceive, he won’t defraud.

He’s eternally inside me.

Look at me through the stained glass.

Join my hands in prayer, it shall pass.

You and me, we both are victims,

we’re not devoted, we’re addicted.

I will only kneel to God,

not to the masses.

Your true God you disregard

as you worship your stained glasses.
